Silly Coaster & Tray
‘Sillysally’ is an illustrator inspired by the positive atmosphere of nature who creates everyday products based on illustrations that make viewers feel happy. Sillysally’s main character, Sillybunny, always carries her most beloved flower. This time, illustrations of Sillybunny and the flower were made into coasters. Sillysally’s cup coasters are made of PVC, a material that effectively resists heat, and can be used conveniently without slipping. They also work well as interior objects. Have a “Sillysally” life with our lovely coasters! I’ve made two ceramic trays, ‘Sillytray’ House and Flower, each available as a one-of-a-kind edition. The patterns on the trays’ surfaces are created using an inlay technique, making them even more valuable. Since the trays retain a handmade texture rather than an artificial, mass-produced finish, each will be the most unique tray on Earth!
Selim Yang
sillysally is an illustrator based in Seoul. Having majored in Illustration at the ArtCenter College of Design, her world—true to the name “sillysally”— begins with capturing those moments that make us smile for no particular reason. She visualizes the warm emotions drawn from everyday life in a cute and humorous form, gently allowing viewers to forget the weight of reality, even if only for a moment. Her work seeks to become more than simple decoration; it aims to be a tender visual language that melts away the fatigue of the day. The scenes in sillysally’s works feel strangely familiar, yet they carry a unique warmth that does not quite exist in reality. Colorful, charming houses and animal friends one might wish to meet at least once evoke the feeling of receiving a gift in childhood. In this way, her illustrations begin with the light-hearted language of “cuteness” and gently guide the viewer toward the deeper emotion of “comfort.”
