HIDDEN PINE TREE POSTCARDS
This project draws directly from the nom de plume of the founder of the SongEun Art and Cultural Foundation, “SongEun(松隱),” meaning “Hidden Pine Tree.” It evokes the subtle presence of a pine tree barely visible behind a hill through thermochromic ink that disappears above a certain temperature. The postcard dimensions derive from SongEun’s facade, while bold hand-drawn illustrations depict cropped pine needles and cones. Variations in the placement of the red cones highlight the expressive potential of hand-pulled silkscreen printing.
